1. What is the pixel size of a 12×36 inch album sheet at 300 DPI?

Answer: 10800 × 3600. 36 × 300 = 10,800 and 12 × 300 = 3,600. Try the album size calculator.

2. What is the usual resolution for printing photo albums?

Answer: 300 DPI. 300 DPI is the common standard for photo-quality printing. 72 DPI is for screens.

3. Which feature hides part of a layer without deleting any pixels?

Answer: Layer mask. A layer mask hides or shows parts of a layer and can be changed at any time. The Eraser deletes pixels permanently.

4. What is the shortcut for Free Transform in Photoshop?

Answer: Ctrl+T. Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on Mac) opens Free Transform to scale, rotate and move a layer.

5. What does a clipping mask do?

Answer: Shows the upper layer only inside the shape of the layer below. A clipping mask (Ctrl+Alt+G) shows a photo only inside the shape below it — useful for photo frames in album templates.

6. Where should faces and important details NOT be placed on a spread?

Answer: On the centre fold. The centre of the spread goes into the binding (fold), so faces placed there get bent or hidden.

7. What is "bleed" in album printing?

Answer: Extra picture beyond the cut line so no white edge shows after trimming. Bleed is extra image area beyond the trim line. The lab cuts inside it.

8. What is frequency separation used for?

Answer: Skin retouching — fixing texture and tone separately. Frequency separation splits the image into a texture layer and a colour/tone layer so skin can be smoothed while keeping natural texture.

9. Which shortcut duplicates the selected layer?

Answer: Ctrl+J. Ctrl+J duplicates the layer (or copies a selection to a new layer). Ctrl+D deselects.

10. Which shortcut creates a merged copy of all visible layers on a new layer (stamp visible)?

Answer: Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E stamps all visible layers into one new layer, while keeping the original layers.
